Raouf, Noom Weight User
“I’ve learned a lot about the psychology of food and the mental blocks we all have as we go through change. I sleep a lot better, am far more mentally alert, and feel more confident.”
Angelique, Noom Weight User
“I have become more mindful of what I eat and why I eat. Noom works because it helps you to create sustained and healthy eating habits. Beyond the scale, my blood pressure, cholesterol and sugar are down.”
Michael, Noom Weight user
“I tried Noom “just to see” and here I am months later, with a whole new level of mindfulness, confidence, and optimism about my ability to manage my weight, manage my emotions around food, and live a healthy, happy, active life!”
“I was determined to find a fix for a system that had become so focused on sick care, instead of health care. Most everyone knows that they should eat healthier, exercise more, be less stressed, get better sleep, but most of us don’t know how. Noom gives you the how — and the why that empowers you to take control of your health.”
Saeju Jeong, CEO and Co-Founder
Our story.
In 2008, Saeju Jeong and Artem Petakov founded Noom because they were dissatisfied with how the American healthcare system focused on sick care instead of health care.
Research showed that up to 50% of premature deaths were attributable to behavior and preventable causes, but they saw that not enough was being done to address this problem. So they took the challenge into their own hands, focusing on building digital products that helped people take control of their health. Through years of experimenting, researching, and speaking with people from all over the world, they learned that weight and behavior change play a major role in addressing chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension. It became clear to Saeju and Artem that helping people achieve a healthy weight was a critical starting point for creating transformative long-term health outcomes.
Now, after helping millions of people lose weight and lead healthier lives, they’re taking what they’ve learned and applying it to the world’s largest health problems. Noom’s highly-adaptable behavior change platform is a powerful tool for addressing a broad range of chronic and non-chronic conditions, and helping more people live healthier lives.
